The 8427XW is the top of the range camera & has a fantastic 28 to 112 wide angle lens to go with its sleek styling & big 8 million pixels .
8 million pixels may not be a lot compared to others nowadays but is more than enough to print pictures from 6x4 size right through to huge 40x30 poster size because the Rollei has such a fabulous quality sharp lens . 28-112 wide to telephoto optical zoom lens - the lens is fabulous . SD memory cards . Superbly made all metal body . Very small in size . Lithium rechargeable battery that takes around 250 pictures before it needs recharging . Top quality 2.7 inch screen that makes picture taking very easy . Tons of features including various Scene modes . Various light metering modes . The 8427 has more than enough features for normal every day photography . Quality video clip mode with sound .
Using the 8427 is very easy . Press the on button on top - a second later your ready to take a picture . Zoom in to its 4x optical setting if you need to . Use the bright 2.7 inch screen . The auto focus & exposure systems are superb . The built in flash is good . Pictures both indoors & outdoors are fast & easy to take . The wide angle lens is a real bonus if you are in a room with limited space - or if you are taking pictures of landscapes or buildings .
Picture quality is razor sharp even at A3 size . Indoors i found i could take a picture 15 feet away with no loss in quality . Over 15 feet & the ISO setting needs to go up so pictures become more grainy . The 8427 does not suffer badly from noise indoors or outdoors in low or bright light . Its is a very impressive little camera that looks good - feels fabulous - superbly made - & takes great pictures with ease . The wide angle lens is ideal for views or for people taking pictures of buildings or for indoor shots where spece is limited . The telephoto setting on the zoom is ideal for general sports or long distance shots .
The 8427 has been a big selling camera for us & has proved to be one of the most relliable cameras we have ever sold . Its expensive but is most certainly one of the every best digital compact cameras to date . Also take a very good look at the Hyundai L-8427 - exactly the same specification with a lens that rund the Rollei very close but the Hyundai is £20 cheaper !
