The X-8 Compact is amazingly easy & fast to use . Its small in size with a large screen at the back . Not too many button so its much more easy than most to use . Press the on / off button - zoom in / out using the zoom button on the back - press the shutter button on top - picture taken - very fast . There is no noticeable delay when taking a picture . If you use the falsh then its around 6 to 10 seconds before you can take the next picture with flash . With no flash used then its around 2 seconds before you can take the next picture . The on screen menus are as easy as it gets to use ... press the menu button to see the line of settings along the bottom of the screen - then just select your setting - very easy & fast . There are various usefull settings such as different pixel settings , light metering settings , ISO settings ... but most people will just use the camera in its fully automatic mode .
 
Picture quality is very good up to 16x11 inches size that i printed to but im sure you could get a good quality picture to around 30x20 inches size if you needed to . I tested the X-8 Compact in its fully automatic point n shoot mode & found pictures both indoors & outdoors to be very sharp . Indoors the flash was good up to around 15 feet but over that the pictures started to look much more grainy - you can help overcome this & take pictures from a larger distance indoors by setting the ISO to a higher number but the pictures would still look a bit grainy .  The lens is obviously good quality which is why the picture quality is very good & the colours also very neutral as you can see when you look at the 2 example pictures i took of the Horse & BMW car at the bottom of this page .
 
Another camera i would recomend under the £100 mark is the Hyundai L-8325 - same spec as the Rollei X-8 Compact but with a slightly smaller 2.5 inch screen - costs £89 .
