Jenoptik are one of the largest manufacturers of digital cameras around . Unfortunatley though they have produced some real bad ones over the last few years & have got a reputation for making cheap & nasty cameras that are very un-reliable . They have though also produces a few fabulous cameras like the superb Jenoptic 10TS & the Jenoptik 12SL - both of these cost well over the £100 mark but are top quality cameras that give other makes such as Canon , Sony , etc a real run for the money . They have also produced the odd very good quality cheap camera & the 8Z3C is the latest of these .
 
The 8Z3C is well specified for such a low cost camera . 8 million pixels . 3x optical zoom . 2.5 inch TFT screen for picture taking & picture viewing . 640x480 video mode with sound . ISO settings from 50 to 1600 . Self timer . 16 megabytes internal memory ( enough for around 9 pictures ) & it takes optional SD memory cards . Macro close up mode . Various Scene modes including Sports & Night time modes . 2x AA batteries for power .
 
Its easy to use - tune it on - zoom in to your subject - take the picture - job done - easy ! . The on screen menus are easy to use but most people will not bother with these - they will just turn it on & take pictures . The 8 Z3C is a point n shoot camera . Picture quality is amazingly good for such a cheap camera . The picture of Aimi shown below was taken in our shop with the 8Z3C - you can see how sharp it is even when using the automatic flash . Outdoors its even better . I found that it gives good pictures almost all the time . You could enlarge a picture to 16x11 inches size because the lens is good enough to cope with that .
 
There are loads of cameras for under £70 that are very much like the Jenoptik 8Z3C . The GE 835 is a great alternative as Vivitar 8327 . Unlike most of the other cameras under £70 though - the 8Z3C is very reliable & does take fabulous quality pictures with ease .
