MICROSOFT IMAGE RESIZER ... is a very fast easy way of downsizing the file sizes of pictures for storage on your PC or to send pictures as emails . Go to the link page ... half way down on the list on the right you will find IMAGE RESIZER ... click to download . Go to Windows Explorer on your PC & find a picture ... right click on the picture ... a menu comes up ... half way down is " Resize Pictures " which you click on ... anothe larger menu comes up with different sizes . For quality emails to print to 10x8 you need the Large ... for standard 6x4 size pictures the Small will do - this is also very good for emails because it produces a small sized file . The Image Resizer will not get rid of your picture - it just makes a smaller sized copy . We use it every day .
VSO IMAGE RESIZER ... is very much like the Microsoft Image Resizer shown above but we think its much more easy to use & it has a wider range of sizes that are easy to see . Its also very fast to use & you can Resize many images at the same time . As an example ... if you have an image that is 3 megabytes in size then you can easilty ( in seconds ) resize it to around 100 kb - large enough for a computer screen & to print to 10x8 size & small enough to email quickly . The big point about the Image Resizer though is the fact that it makes your file sizes so much smaller so you can store so much more on your Computer or on USB pen drive as a back up . Click on the VSO IMAGE RESIZER link to your left - then click on Download v2x . When the download is complete all you do is ... find a picture or pictures on your Computer ... right click on the thumbneail view of the picture ... go down the list till you see VSO Image Resizer ... left click on that ... click Continue when a box come up ... the box will go away ... then click on OK at the bottom left ... a second later a copy of your original picture will come on to your screen at the bottom ... this will be around 40 to 140 kb in size - miles smaller than your original . You can then iether keep both or get rid of the original if you dont intend to print a picture larger than 10x8 in size . The new smaller file can be used for email as well .
AVS VIDEO EDITOR ... is a Video editing software suite that lets you edit your movies taken with your digital camera or your camcorder . Its fast to use & easy to use . Just click on the VSO VIDEO EDITOR link button to your left then click on Download - half way down the new page to the left . Its a big download of 80 megabytes so may take a while - but it is well worth it .
DISK CLEANER ... is a brilliant free little program that get rid of all the junk on your computer without harming it in any way - it will also help speed up your computer . When you clcik on the link you get to a page - click on the " mirror 2 " words & run the program . When the box with lots of empty squares comes just check every sqaure going down the long list then click ok to get rid of all your junk . Run disk cleaner every time you are about to turn your computer off .
AVG ANTI VIRUS ... from Grisoft is a free anti virus program that we think is amongst the best available . The free version is fabulous but there is also a pay for version that gives even more protection & very fast automatic up-dates .
OFFICE - FULL PROGRAM ... is an Office Suite that looks very much like Microsoft Office & is FULLY COMPATIBLE WITH MICROSOFT OFFICE ... you can open Microsoft Office file such as a speadsheet or word file directly into OpenOffice.Org ( the name of this program ) & will find it even looks very simmilar to the Microsoft Spreadsheet or Word you have been using . OpenOffice.Org call them different though ... Excel ( Spreadsheet ) is called CALC ... Word is called WRITER ... Powerpoint is called IMPRESS . These are the same things but called different names . OpenOffice.Org is 100% FREE & is fully compatible with Windows & Office programs . To download just follow the on screen instuctions ( most are half way down the page ) . The download is big - over 50 megabytes - so it may take a while to download . Once downloaded you will find it in your Programs .
